I enjoy poking fun at Canada, but I try to do it respectfully and with at least a hint of accuracy (although not too accurate). Canadians are (generally) an intelligent, peaceful bunch who enjoy a good ribbing, even if it's from a misguided American. Most of my jokes wouldn't work if I were making fun of America, because Billy Bob "Bubba" Johnson would say, "Hey, that ain't true!" and then sock me in the nose while singing "I'm Proud to be an American" slightly off key.J. I was going to post a link to it on FaceBook but I have quite a few militant Canadian friends who might hunt you down and kill you, and I wouldn't want that to happen. (They would have no trouble finding you as most of us know where all the States are and the names of their capitals and how to pass as Mericans. We can mispronounce "about" and "aunt" when we need to.) But in general, on behalf of all 34 million of us (that is 34 million in metric), I thank you for your research and your ongoing efforts to bring your fellow countrypersons out of the dark when it comes to their northern neighbours.Mary W. Remember, of course, that they are still under British rule, so English is still a foreign language for them. We shouldn't make fun of them for it, but rather, try to teach them the proper way to speak English.J.
